I was fortunate enough to have been born and raised in Southern California, surrounded by the beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains and the spectacular Pacific Ocean and Seashore, which has inspired me to recreate this local beauty through my paintings. Traveling around our beautiful world, I have also tried to capture its beauty and preserve it for others to see and enjoy.
I am an award-winning artist, and I have had my work juried into and displayed in several art exhibits. I belong to theĀ Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore, Pastel Society of Southern California, Destination:Art and the Pastel Society of the West Coast. I have studied under Joe Mancuso and Fran Nichols. I have also attended many workshops, including those of Richard McKinley, Alain Picard, Lavone Sterling and many other wonderful artists. I attended the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) Convention 2017 in Albuquerque, where I went to several demonstrations and attended several workshops including Jeannie Rosier Smith, Kathleen Newman and Rae Smith.
My medium is mainly pastel, and my goal is to capture the beauty of our world through my paintings and share these paintings with others.
