I was born and raised in Santa Monica, California, surrounded by the beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains and the spectacular Pacific Ocean and seashore. Growing up I spent much of my free time at the beaches and hiking and sightseeing in the mountains with my family and friends. After I retired I was able to pursue capturing the beauty of these mountains, seashore and the rest of our amazing country through my paintings.
I am an award winning artist, and I belong to the Pastel Society of Southern California, Destination:Art and the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore. I have studied under artists Joe Mancuso and Fran Nichols and have attended workshops with Richard McKinley, Alain Picard, Desmond O’Hagan, Barbara Jaenicke and many other wonderful artists. At the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) convention in Albuquerque, I also attended workshops with several talented artists including Jeannie Rosier Smith, Kathleen Newman and Rae Smith.
My goal is to capture the beauty of our world through paintings and to share them with others.
